The Modern Apprentice project sees a number of key stakeholders in the community come together to address a shared issue, a lack of volunteers and having a regular presence in local schools. The stakeholders involved include Callander Cricket Club, Trossachs Tigers Hockey Club, Loch Venachar Sailing Club, Callander Thistle FC, McLaren Leisure Centre and McLaren High School.
Katie Reekie who was successfully recruited as the Modern Apprentice not only supports the primary function of a presence in the schools but also supports the day to day work of the clubs and McLaren Leisure Centre and the Community Sport Hub.
Funding for the project was provided by ClubSport Stirling and McLaren Leisure Centre and SVQ training is provided by The Sports Academy of Scotland.
The Awards will take place on Wednesday 11th March so fingers crossed however just being shortlisted is a fantastic achievement!
